Even though we're still in the 80s, it's officially December! As we're finishing up our second quarter, we will be continuing to stay busy until Christmas break!
ELA:
Making Meaning: This week we have started reading Brave Harriet. This book is a true story and focuses on the first female pilot to fly across the English Channel. We will continue working with this book next week.
Florida Ready: We have started using our Florida Ready books, which is a test prep tool to prepare for the FSA. This week, we have worked on asking and answering questions and finding the main idea and key details within a text.
Math:
This week we have started working on division. At this point in the year, it is CRUCIAL that your child be fairly fluent with their multiplication facts. This will help them immensely as they are trying to navigate their way through division. We currently have 4 students that have passed all of their multiplication timed tests! Bravo!! We should be adding 2-3 more next week to that list. Please be practicing multiplication/division facts with your child every night! Next week we will also start working on graphing. This will be taught at the same time we review division.

Social Studies:
We have finished the Northeast region!! Onto the Midwest region. Our test for this will be on December 20, 2016.
Table Topics:
Q: Out of the regions that you have studied so far (southeast and northeast), which sounds most fun to live in? Why?
A: Answers may vary.
Q: Are there any books at the book fair that seemed interesting to you?
A: Answers may vary. The book fair will be open until December 9th. They will also be open during CCE's Light the Night.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
