We have been enjoying this nice fall weather and all of the fun holidays that come along with it. Check out what we have been up to this past week:
ELA:
- Making Meaning: We have been reading A Day's Work. In this book, a young boy, Francisco, learns the importance of hard-work and telling the truth. Ask your child what happens in the story for Francisco to learn these lessons.
- Being a Writer: We have been choosing which of our personal narratives to put into our class book. We have also been revising our papers and finding opportunities to place sensory details in our stories.
- We are currently ready: Mr. Granite is From Another Planet by: Dan Gutman. This book is from the My Weird School series. It is a super silly book that I have chosen to read to the students so that they can choose other books from the same series to get plugged into.
Math:
We have continued to trudge our way through multiplication. The students are becoming very fluent with their facts - Hooray!! Please remember to be studying math facts daily. It is my expectation for all students to have passed their 10s by Winter Break. Speaking of, I would like to introduce our first student to pass all of their multiplication facts.... drum roll....

We have quite a few other students on his tail so be on the look-out for more pictures of students soon that have completed their multiplication facts!!
Social Studies:
We have completed our Southeast region and are on to the Northeast region. A study guide will be sent home at least a week before the test. Remember to be studying the placements of each state for the test!
Congratulations to our Southeast region Jeopardy champs!

Fall Centers:

Table Topics:
Q: What happened in the school play that you watched last week:
A: It was a play starring Peter Pan as he traveled through the world of books. Many teachers and staff were dressed as book characters. Here is a cute pic below of Mrs. Bailey, our support facilitation teacher with one of our students.

Q: What was your favorite fall center?
A: Candy Corn arrays, Skittle graphing, pumpkin sequencing, or "What Should Mrs. Dickinson Be For Halloween?"
I hope everyone has had a great week!
