Week one is in the books!
We had an amazing first week. I have enjoyed getting to know each child and watching them grow already as we've started to learn new content.
This week we've learned:
- Math: 2's multiplication
- ELA (english language arts):
- How to read a text and use evidence to prove our answers
- We read Judy Moody Is In A Mood and compared her first day of 3rd grade with ours
- Science: Parts of a plant (roots, stem and leaves) and their functions

Next week we will:
- Math:
- Continue with foundation multiplication (2s and 3s)
- Review addition with regrouping (IE. 347+185)
- ELA: We will begin Making Meaning & Being a Writer
- Complete and incomplete sentences
- Science: Review parts of a plant and learn how they react to different environments

Table Topics (school-related questions to ask your child when eating dinner, in the car, etc.):
Q: What are the 3 parts of a plant and why is each one significant to the plant?
A: Roots, stems & leaves (see example below)

Q: What was your favorite part about Judy Moody Is In A Mood? Could you relate to Judy at any point of the book?
A: Answers may vary.
Q: What are some things that you are planning to include on your Me Collage?
A: Answers may vary.
Q: How do you multiply by 2?
A. We learned that you can "double" the other number by adding it twice. (IE. 2x6=6+6)
